Lectric XP BMX Handlebars

Lectric XP BMX Handlebars

You’ll need a 25.4 mm quill stem adapter, a new stem and some cool handlebars. Also called a 1″ to 1 1/8″ threadless stem adapter. The one I got from Amazon is sold out…

Hi ! Best Lectric conversion on YouTube . Sorry, I know your video is 2 yrs old but I just recently bought a Lectric xp 2.0 and plan to convert my handlebars … regarding the stem adapter quill ,where did you buy yours ? And what is the length of the stem adapter quill ? Thank you in advance

  3. heyantne on October 6, 2022 at 5:04 am

Where did you buy the handle bars? p / n?

  4. Laurie Macpherson on October 6, 2022 at 5:04 am

Hello and thanks for all of the great information you are providing. Do you think that the stock stem could be cut down shorter and still preserve the ability to fold? I just got my Lectric XP 2.0 up and running this week and really want to change the handlebar situation. I find the stock steering to be quite jerkey and want to replace it with something with a more swept back, relaxed and upright position. Thanks again for this great video. Now I finally understand risers and quill stems

Not sure the reason you wouldn’t use the factory stem, and just replace the handle bars, I would like to have a similar hight to factory set up with a wider handle bar set.

Just what i needed to see, great – thanks.

  8. luckyfire3 on October 6, 2022 at 5:08 am

They seem quite a bit lower. I’ll see if I can find a longer stem

was moving the shifter, grips, etc.. as easy as taking them off the original handlebars and putting them on the bmx ones? Really looking into doing this.. but im no good when it comes to wiring lol

  10. inegma29 on October 6, 2022 at 5:11 am

Someone on youtube made a qiick release removable bmx handle bar system for the ebikes thats really well made. $99. Allows you to still fold up your bike.

  11. John Sivo on October 6, 2022 at 5:15 am

Thank you for this video. I would like to get a lectric and do the same for my 9 yo son. He can’t keep up with the family who all have ebikes. Do you think this mod would work for a 9 yo boy?

will this work for the step thru model?

  16. som2you on October 6, 2022 at 5:20 am

Awesome video! New Lectric XP owner here. Sorry, for the dumb question but what size is the stem? 25.4 mm? I also see you have some sort of thin foam or between the handle bars and stem. Does that come with the stem or is that separate? Can the handle be raise higher or lower? What do you need for that? Thanks.

    Thanks.
Anybody knows if this can be done with the same parts on the G-Force t42?

  20. John Sheetz on October 6, 2022 at 5:24 am

My stock ones got play up top I’m afraid of the allen bolt on top cuz they don’t want to bust it off it’s very tight and painted on but thank you for the knowledge

  21. Strill Life on October 6, 2022 at 5:26 am

Wish I saw this before buying my stuff. I went through the same thing. 1st quill was too loose. Got the right 1 and then the next stem was too big for my bars. I have to send it back. After doing all this I’m thinking the bars will be too low making me reach and bend over too much. But we’ll see.

  22. Frankie Fernandez on October 6, 2022 at 5:26 am

What size is that handle bar? Can I use any BMX handle bar?

  23. rey villaruel on October 6, 2022 at 5:28 am

Like your mod on the XP Lectric Bike. Did you also do a video on shorting the cables? Did it require cutting cables? Thanks

  27. THE FIX-IT GUY REVIEWER on October 6, 2022 at 5:36 am

But now it’s not a foldable bike. Because the folding mechanism is not going to work for the handlebars.

The other issue is what’s great about these electric e-bikes is that they’re not BMX jumping type crazy bikes. They are stand up type bikes So a comfortable ride. I would not use them like a BMX bike I don’t think they could handle it and they’re way too heavy.. So I don’t see the point of converting in the first place but..

When you convert to BMX handlebars for you to get the proper seat adjustment for your legs if you’re a tall person say about 6 ft now you’re really bending over because you can’t really raise the height of those BMX handlebars.

    Very uncomfortable for long rides.

So basically you’re taking a nice upride bike kind of a mountain bike a little bit That’s very heavy that you really can’t use for BMX biking And now you’re making it uncomfortable and you can’t fold it down the right way when you store it in a car.

It just doesn’t make any sense.

I could see changing the handlebars on a folding bike to be 30 in wide from the 24 in wide of the electric XP for more comfortable controlling ride when steering.

But again I just don’t get it. Other than for the aesthetics.. well or unless you’re a little kid And you want the BMX bike feel can you not that big of a person.

  28. Curt Rodgers on October 6, 2022 at 5:37 am

So for some reason you can’t put the BMX bars on the factory stem.

  29. noel wright on October 6, 2022 at 5:38 am

Very helpful video on BMX bar conversion by far, thanks to this man it made my bar flip smooth, I went with a 10.5 x 30 inch bar instead, he was real detailed . 👍

  30. crosshatch . on October 6, 2022 at 5:39 am

Why has none showed a video how to keep the height of the original bars as thats a hell of a drop, dnt understand why no ones showed a way to use an bigger stem so the bars ain’t as low ,there’s no way I cld have rode mine that low my bck wld have broke ,lol ,

  32. jon vickerson on October 6, 2022 at 5:40 am

Could I use a stem riser on this to heighten the handlebars…?

  33. Mr. Dave on October 6, 2022 at 5:40 am

Hey, i did the bmx bar swap to my lectric xp..if i want to add the front suspension fork and use the bmx bar setup, can i just cut the tube on the new suspension to where i want it and still use the quill stem setup i have for the bmx bars?

  34. imgwannakickbooty on October 6, 2022 at 5:40 am

  38. Chukalux77++ on October 6, 2022 at 5:44 am

  39. Robert Remali on October 6, 2022 at 5:45 am

So this was the best video for the topic. Very thorough. Thanks for clearing up the measurements!

  40. paul tennis on October 6, 2022 at 5:46 am

Thanks i just ordered my Lectric XP and I am use to ridding a mountain bike so depending how i feel with bars that come with my XP i may switch out good video

  41. Vinh Vu on October 6, 2022 at 5:47 am

Can you please give me the 3 links to buy the 3 exact parts that you had. I love it. Great video. Thumb up. Thanks.

  42. MrBiohazardJohn on October 6, 2022 at 5:47 am

Thanks for this video! Are there any extended quil stems that can give the BMX handlebars some more height? My stock handlebars are set pretty high 21 inches, I’d like to switch but I’m afraid the new height will be way too low for me.

  43. Knifenerd on October 6, 2022 at 5:55 am

Did you consider installing dirt bike handlebars? If so, why did you go with BMX bars over dirt bike bars? It sort of looks like all the BMX bars do is replace the long stock stem ending up with about the same thing but with less space on the bar to mount accessories. Great video btw….just got my XP and trying to figure out what upgrades I should do. The fender vibration or whatever it is that vibrates at higher speeds is about the only annoyance I’m noticing so far…and also the lag in throttle response…not sure why there is like a one second delay before the motor responds to the throttle movement…You automatically get used to it but I would rather have an instant response.
