Should have specified that you NEED a troy Lee d3, nothing else will do. Only exception is a Bell super 2r, but only if you’re renting a bike.

  14. RealStealthyNinja on June 27, 2019 at 8:41 pm

  16. Eesus on June 27, 2019 at 8:42 pm

I’m gonna be honest, I’m only 13 and not too much experience, but all the tracks around me are completely downhill. Would it be worth my money to buy a full face helmet, or just stick with my Bontrager open face?? Also when I’m riding around trails in my neighborhood I enjoy some jumps so add that to the equation.

  17. Tiger Strike on June 27, 2019 at 8:43 pm

For best protection ride your bike inside a bubble!

I grew up skateboarding and now i mountain bike, ive noticed theyre very similar cultures as far as purism and styles go but what i learned at the end of the day just do you and have fun who cares what your wearing or what youre riding, i mean are you in the sport for the pleasure and fun or are you in it for the cool points and recognition of your peirs.

Who is the wise man? "I ride hard and crash a lot, I need lots of pads, helmets, and always tell my friends when I go out so if I get hurt and I am late they can send a helicopter" OR " I ride in control, because I have my shit together."

  23. Michael Hoffmann on June 27, 2019 at 8:54 pm

  25. Only Afterhours on June 27, 2019 at 8:57 pm

ummm, shinguards w/ kneepads, neckbrace, elbow pads and chest/back protector when im hitting bigger drops (17foot_+) and/or 40+foot jumps w/ gaps, and especially when I’m practicing wicked DH runs, which are super-duper -steep! and w/ -*-gnarly-*- world-cup, uci, or grt and nationals rock-gardens. yes, i might look corny with all of that on, and no soo ‘cool’, but nothing worse than crashing going uber fast through rock-gardens, not being professional, lol. soo, yea,… f00k how I look. I want to go home in one piece during wicked, pushing-_-the+_+limits wicked-fast practice dh runs.

Choose a helmet for the style of riding that YOU’RE (you are) going to be doing!
    Not YOUR. Sheesh.

  33. Larry Smith on June 27, 2019 at 9:09 pm

How many bikes do you guys have?

  34. Mango Smoothie on June 27, 2019 at 9:12 pm

Can you go with shin guards like soccer

  35. Pregardt on June 27, 2019 at 9:12 pm

I wear kneepads, helmet, gloves and eyewear always!
I recently got a TLD 5550 elbow pads. I ride mostly technical trails mixed with light DH sections.
Is this elbow pad overkill? They are looking good but it can be really hot in summer after 10mins of riding.

I have taken the leaf of faith and decided against using knee pads this season. They limit me in so many ways and are uncomfortable. Elbow pads r a must I have fallen more than once on my arm and have scars up and down
