I’m not quite sure you know what a crescent wrench is, mate
Maybe I missed it but every time you said crescent wrench you held up a standard
    wrench 🔧
A crescent wrench is the one that adjusts and rounds off everything it touches

I am scared for you. Just….. don’t. Please? I wish Walmart and most other big box retailers would lose the “mountain bike” description. These are death traps on anything but pavement. Buy a 30 year old stumpy or cannondale, and maintain your teeth, and ability to walk and think. Even modern cross country is a real test for reliable, expensive, genuine mountain bikes. Just remember the bike controls your existence. Would you use a cut rate pacemaker, or hip replacement? Don’t be cheap. You don’t have to spend $2000 to enjoy it, but don’t take your life for granted. Even if the damage is minor, walking 4 miles to get back to your car will keep novices away.

I have the Canadian tire version of this bike and I never knew there were so many apparent bad things with it

  6. David DeHass on July 31, 2022 at 11:16 pm

You didn’t really return this bike to Walmart after trashing it on a 2x black diamond trail did you?

  7. Jaron-Craig Hunter on July 31, 2022 at 11:18 pm

Cheap cable disc brakes can be centered with the mounting bolts so that it’s not bending the rotor over.

  12. piano259 on July 31, 2022 at 11:21 pm

What do you mean by return the bike? Are you saying they will take the bike back?

  13. why me2 on July 31, 2022 at 11:23 pm

I saw someone shredding on one of those hyper bikes on spider mountain in Texas, and I was amazed, lmao.

Used to dh race in the late 90s. Just got back in to riding after over 20 years and bought a $600 Felt 29er ht. It doesn’t suck, its actually pretty good. Great frame, cheap Suntour coil forks are just as good as what I used to race on and the cheap x4 derailer shifts way better than anything I’ve ridden before. Even the cheap no name wheelset is actually pretty high quality. This bike and its components are better than the high end stuff I last rode on. Its perfectly capable and durable. We used to ride the same trails that you young guys think requires a $4000 bike with cushy long travel suspension on 26ers with 100mm coil suspension. Its all perspective.

First video and you’ve gained a sub, like, comment and a bell. Great video.

  18. Oscar Garcia on July 31, 2022 at 11:28 pm

Creo que es una buena bicicleta por el precio es inaudito que compares esa bicicleta con una profesional tres mil dólares o más además de solo quejarse eres un poco dramático

  19. Ronald Harris on July 31, 2022 at 11:31 pm

Just like a bike shop built it needs upgraded components

  20. Panda dynasty on July 31, 2022 at 11:32 pm

  21. STAY BRAVE on July 31, 2022 at 11:36 pm

My Walmart mb lasted 6 days and I only used it on a road.😡

  22. ryancee7 on July 31, 2022 at 11:37 pm

I have 2 Hyper Bear Mountain bikes and I just wanted a track and road bike so I didn’t even beat it up and the brakes and gear shifting is just awful. I’m gonna try adjusting some things but dang the cheap showed the moment I drove it which is a little annoying haha

  23. SENDITBRO on July 31, 2022 at 11:37 pm

Has that bike got snaufu cranks ?? damn

  24. ewwitsantonio on July 31, 2022 at 11:41 pm

  26. SHARK TEAM -Zarik on July 31, 2022 at 11:44 pm

Already at 40s. we went back to cycling, to do some cross-country route and some technical on the hill, we did not have much money to go for an expensive full suspension, so we went for a decent Trek Xcaliber 8 2022, I hope to do better than that MTB from wallmart, I’m new here and from today I follow your channel, greetings from a distant country in Latin America

  27. Alan Roberts on July 31, 2022 at 11:45 pm

    I had to pay $428.00 !!!

  28. Ki Song on July 31, 2022 at 11:48 pm

Do you think they would create a better bike by choosing a more solid rigid fork on a hardtail for the same money?

  29. Bullets ForTeeth on July 31, 2022 at 11:50 pm

If you buy a bike from a Box Store, go over it and tighten up everything… Remember the person who puts the bikes together at a Box Store makes barely above minimum wage and probably doesn’t even ride a bike to work.

  30. George Sayers on July 31, 2022 at 11:50 pm

Were you a better rider after this experience? I find that getting back on a better bike shows improved skills after a challenging ride on a basic bike.

  31. Gravestone 9 on July 31, 2022 at 11:55 pm

Honestly if I’m spending 7 grand I might as well get a car or a used motorcycle but maybe I don’t make enough to make that judgement.

  32. Tac on July 31, 2022 at 11:57 pm

When you ride a bike like this it will show you if you actually have any skill as a rider.

Walmart mountain bikes are great on the streets. Lol

  35. Dorian Davi on July 31, 2022 at 11:59 pm

I had expensive bicycles stolen in the past. Then I would rent till they went out of business. Now I’m cheap, only use cheap bicycles, as humans, we adapt.

  36. TGN M1S3RY on July 31, 2022 at 11:59 pm

dawg mine was the exact same bike it’s 470

  38. Stephen Starling on August 1, 2022 at 12:01 am

I run a 1999 fuji my bike may be old be it still shreds on the trail

  39. Rowan on August 1, 2022 at 12:02 am

100% better off going with a used bike. I have a 1980’s full suspension bike from a defunct brand that I bought for $50 when my big box bike broke. It still had a quill stem, V brakes, and an integrated derailleur hanger, but it was SOOO much more reliable. Never lost a chain or got a flat, V brakes did need adjusting once a week though lol.

  40. Roberto Pang on August 1, 2022 at 12:03 am

Yeah, man, you are a really talented rider with a lot of experience…..

….But this is a Walmart bike what is more toy than tool. It is for kids/teens who want to feel they got a cool bike and don’t have parents who can smack down 2k on the counter (or credit card).

Not even the makers of the bike would recommend to take it to the trail you took it.

This is the type of bike that a 12 year old will ride to his friend’s house and say "look at my bike" and his friend and the friend’s mom will say: "Wow double suspension! and it looks fasts, too." and then two years later the thing will be forgotten in the garage; and the mom will say:

"Why don’t you ride your bike anymore, it was a lot of money!"

It’s easy to be negative on cheap stuff.

Now, if the price of then bike were $800 then, yeah, I would mock it, make fun of it and of those who bought it.

    But it’s a $250 bike…from Walmart…from Hyper…It’s a toy for a kid to feel happy.

  41. Jules Japitana on August 1, 2022 at 12:03 am

Please make a video of this bike upgrading all the components except the frame and test it again on the trail.
    love the content.

  47. Luke Schoen on August 1, 2022 at 12:07 am

Thanks for putting this into perspective. Great to see Walmart making full suspension bikes accessible to the less affluent, but safety first

  48. Blake Buchanan on August 1, 2022 at 12:07 am

Can you try out the mongoose freestyle on the desert?

  49. John McNeil on August 1, 2022 at 12:07 am

"I’m not going to make another Wal Mart bike video" – proceeds to make another Wal Mart bike video. "Oh gosh, you poor people are such idiots, why don’t you just go buy a $4,000.00 bike for your kids to ride in the neighborhood?"

  50. Frog Box on August 1, 2022 at 12:07 am

An expert rider testing the bike…will always think the worst….however put a newbie on it and how would they rate the bike considering they would be going slower and more carefully? It might actually be a good bike for someone starting out….it did after all survive a pretty hard thrashing.
