Let’s put it this way: if you know how to assemble a retro crankset with 3 chainrings, you’ll now how to do it with ANY chainsets…
I wanted to know, can I convert a 3x like this into a 2x for a retro steel frame gravel build? Where I live 2x are rare and costly. I need a 44/46t-32/30t. Reply if possible. Thanks!
O have added 4th chainring on my triple now it’s 24-34-42-48 tooth ring quadruple and you say 3 rings is too much π

Nice restoration! Hello from Ukraine!
Nice polishing on those Crank arms
I disassembled my old deore triple crankset to service and to tighten it. I ended up buying a narrow wide chainring and with a 1×9 on my winter bike…This is excactly the reason what you are showing and i didnt have the special tool to tighten the bolts. ππ
Sir can you use deore 5100 rear derailleur to a deore 12 speed cassette?
Why gloves here? There is no dirt on the entire project. Threadlock is not messy.
3 chain rings are great. How else are you going to get that granniest of granny gears where the chain ring gear is smaller than the back cog? That’s the set up on my 2016 Surly with 30 gears and I wouldn’t want it any other way. It makes hauling 4 panniers full of gear and a heavy chrome-moly steel bike up a 15% grade a cinch.
Maybe you can use that crank for road bike and mtb, just put off one of those chainring
SickBiker do you have any ideia of the torque used in the bolts for shimano cranks?
how thick are the spacers? because mine lost
Lovely. I worry that your middle chainring is going to jump, the teeth are worn out. Small looks fine. Best of luck!
sir do you have extra hydraulic brake?
Fine work Danny
