Trail Vs Enduro Mountain Bikes | Is There Really A Difference?

Trail Vs Enduro Mountain Bikes | Is There Really A Difference?

With so many different types of mountain bike available now it can be tricky to work out what is a trail bike and what is an enduro bike. With the help of our good friends at Commencal (and a few different Blakes!), who have provided us with the Meta TR 29 and the Meta AM 29. It’s time to define what these two bikes are all about.

  3. Aldren Penaflor on September 27, 2022 at 2:18 am

    fantastic editing 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😁

  4. Flippy on September 27, 2022 at 2:21 am

The lines between "trail" and "enduro" are so blurred now that it really comes down to the specific bike rather than generalisations. The Fuel EX and Slash are perfect examples. The 130mm Fuel isn’t going to be enough for a lot of people, and the ST is actually steeper on the Slash, which is why both bikes are in Trek’s "trail" category. There’s the Remedy too, but that’s 27.5, which not everyone wants.

Just love the alter ego’s. Must be difficult and a blast to record and edit. Brilliant way to show the differences. Still none closer to helping me choose – trail vs enduro. Although at present it’s take what you get.

  6. axziz 009 on September 27, 2022 at 2:22 am

Are enduro mtb front suspension meant to be a bit stiff compared to trail bikes because mine is and I’m a beginner

  7. Joseph Stampfl on September 27, 2022 at 2:22 am

The editing on these older videos really put to shame the new content. However, the newer content is still just as enjoyable

  8. Vityia Meas Den Tit on September 27, 2022 at 2:22 am

    Seriously carefully crafted video.

  9. I'm Droppin In on September 27, 2022 at 2:22 am

I do lots of uphill with an enduro man, I almost got a six pack no joke for whatever reason…

  10. Thomasmtb on September 27, 2022 at 2:23 am

I thought trailbikes have 130mm of travel 😂

  11. thomas beachey on September 27, 2022 at 2:27 am

    this isnt an ad

  12. eric sams on September 27, 2022 at 2:27 am

I have the Clash that was shown here and I can tell you it is the goods. It will do everything. RIPPER!

  13. One More Day on September 27, 2022 at 2:29 am

for some reason these guys have the same face

  14. Francisco Beláustegui on September 27, 2022 at 2:30 am

Us, people from the third World can’t tell the diference… Both look like the same kind of out of reach bike

  15. Geexter on September 27, 2022 at 2:33 am

That’s a lot of shock movement during the climb, do these bikes have a lockout option?

  16. R2D3 vadar on September 27, 2022 at 2:34 am

💯Absolutely wonderful and supper creative. The script, editing, and filming along with the Blake deserves an award. Flipping wonderful. What did I learn? I still suck, wear full face helmet even on flow trials and buy the clash as the second bike to a hardtail. Question? A hardtail with 150 front travel, would it be wise to stick to trials and small drops and jumps to avoid death? I am new to this era of MTB. Thanks!💯

  17. Bikes with B on September 27, 2022 at 2:35 am

That’s it. I’m pulling the trigger on the Clash.

  18. Tony B on September 27, 2022 at 2:36 am

So then, in terms of burliness …. XC -> Trail -> All Mountain -> Enduro – Downhill ???

  19. N on September 27, 2022 at 2:36 am

After watching this video, I concluded my decision. A hardtail

  20. Jáchym Lána on September 27, 2022 at 2:37 am

So, basicaly a Commencal ad? 😄 We all knew the results before even watching a vid

  21. Motorcycles And Things on September 27, 2022 at 2:39 am

To my poor eyes and lack of knowledge, them bikes look moor or less the same to my eyes ,,, Sorry , Shane uk 🇬🇧

I’m over a year late to this video and commenting but I got to ask, isn’t human cloning illegal? … 😛

  24. Neil on September 27, 2022 at 2:41 am

3 Blake’s, brilliantly put together & great to watch

  25. Matthew Howell on September 27, 2022 at 2:43 am

Maybe we deserve a GMBN Playlist of just Blake called the "Beautiful People" Playlist.

  26. baloy on September 27, 2022 at 2:45 am

Did you shoot this in one day? That must be very tiring..😂😂😂

  27. John Buntin on September 27, 2022 at 2:48 am

So on the flat up hill neither rider locked out suspension for a timed event? That trail bike is pretty trick for what it is suppose to be. At least in my opinion.

  28. Jus Clav on September 27, 2022 at 2:49 am

    Trail its more practical

  29. Tams Snazzy Stuff on September 27, 2022 at 2:50 am

Cool vid I was debating between a trail and enduro for a full squish option.

  30. Robert John Angana on September 27, 2022 at 2:52 am

    They are just the same

  31. DailyMTB on September 27, 2022 at 2:52 am

    sick!!!

  32. Ganji Heyim on September 27, 2022 at 2:53 am

Where should I buy this enduro bike?

  33. Sean C on September 27, 2022 at 2:53 am

Why not give us the spec differences at the start of the vid so we know what we looking at. Less of the gimmicky stuff, not here for the “humour” !

  34. WAP on September 27, 2022 at 2:54 am

Like how they added in the strange baby that came from the trail, enduro and downhill bike

  35. David Leighton on September 27, 2022 at 2:54 am

It can be a tough one, you don’t want to be over biked or under gunned. I’ve been both, went from a 170mm bike in 2014 that was a dh slayer but a up hill slogger and bobber, then purchased a kona process 111 that’s now a better all rounder and does very well on the downs and rough stuff but some times it does feel under gunned on the big hits and it’s getting old now. Looking for something that has got good climbing ability but can still take a beating on the bigger down hill hits. 150 ish mm. Any real world recommendations from riders who actually own these bikes please 👍🏻

  36. Addison True on September 27, 2022 at 2:57 am

just the video i was looking for

  37. H G on September 27, 2022 at 2:58 am

How would the Canyon Lux Trail CF7 would have performed with the Fox suspension? I’m thinking about getting one for light-medium trails and obviously good climbing.
Im thinking of putting on chunky trail tires with good protection.

  38. Francisco Beláustegui on September 27, 2022 at 2:59 am

Second time watching this clip… To catch the third secret bike… And i thought as trailgel Shows up he reminds me of Bill And Ted how he apears after a thunder And the sound of electric guitar sharp gain and sustained note.

  39. ZH Mąhįr KąrąBąk7 on September 27, 2022 at 2:59 am

    TRAIL 😎👍🏻

  40. Sonofawil on September 27, 2022 at 3:00 am

This is why I have a trail bike but gaze longingly at the enduros I see on the trail. Shag an enduro, marry a trail bike.

  41. xabier zuazola on September 27, 2022 at 3:01 am

Gracias por los subtítulos en castellano 🙏👌

  42. Mr Beast Beast on September 27, 2022 at 3:01 am

    Where is this

  43. J P on September 27, 2022 at 3:03 am

the reason why the feather in front can usually be turned on and off via handlebar is to switch it off when you are kicking on flat ground to reduce energy wastage 😀

  44. Ultra on September 27, 2022 at 3:04 am

They both look like the same bike

  45. David - CYCLING'N RUNNING time on September 27, 2022 at 3:06 am

The TA looks like a science guy. Well, when it comes to cycling, he is indeed. Top man really. This video deserves an award! Cheers mate. Stay safe. LIKE

  46. Ya Dad's Precum on September 27, 2022 at 3:07 am

DH Blake almost having a reverse entry with that skid.

  47. Juan Palomo on September 27, 2022 at 3:08 am

My brother has the TR, i have the AM… we’re still trying to find the difference. Pros will probably be able to feel the minute differences… as daily morning riders both of us… they’re both fantastic weapons to pack, no matter the ride choice.

  48. Mark on September 27, 2022 at 3:09 am

there is what we call lockout and convert your bike like hardtrail then you can climb better hahaha….

  49. Sweatpants on September 27, 2022 at 3:09 am

    pov: they’re triplets

  50. Dillon Deloge on September 27, 2022 at 3:10 am

I think this video proves that any modern bike from a reputable company will perform well enough if you’re not concerned about times.
