Hi! I have no idea if anybody can answer my question or help me with some guidance. I am about to buy my first bike, and I’m looking for a good entry level bike. So far, I have seen three bikes that im interested on. Those are: 1) Giant Talon 2 29er (I’m on the fence with the fork. Is Suntour a good fork) need help here. 2) Trek Marlin 7 (on the fence with the crankset. Chainrings are not removable) and 3) Specialized Rockhopper Comp (I’m not really sure about the fork again. I like that is air) Out of those three which one do you think is the best option for an entry level MTB? Thank you so much!!!

lol, still drive my 27 year old Koga-miyata sky-carbolite (magura fork/xtr/tubeless) atb… I know, there are no hills in The Netherlands 🙁 But this bike did pass the 300.000 km last year 🙂

I am looking to upgrade my mtb next month and the two I’ve narrowed down to is the GT Avalanche Sport 27.5 Hardtail 2018, and the Carrera Kraken 27.5 Hardtail 2018. All brand bias aside, what is the best value for money? Both have hydraulic breaks, which I’m after. I’m deffo no expert, so I just want to have some light shed on which is the best bike for the money overall.

    No love for GT Zaskar?

  20. nik pavlovic on July 3, 2019 at 8:00 pm

spark and spesh hardtail ok, the epics brain suspension clunks which annoyed me on a weekend test, the other 2 in best of 2018 list, dumb!! for some reason the trek procaliber is never included in these lists, ive never ridden a more capable hardtail, the isospeed gives it just the right amount of absorbtion when seated and it handles very rough terrain with ease, its fast and fun to ride!!

  21. Azman S on July 3, 2019 at 8:00 pm

Any XC HT mtb are still the best ever bike to ride!!! No doubt!!!

  22. HayQueDecirloMas on July 3, 2019 at 8:01 pm

  31. hurricaneheli79 on July 3, 2019 at 8:09 pm

This could of been a way shorter vid but a more accurate one. The Scott Scale & Spark are the only ones. Nino proves it.

  32. J Mendes Jr on July 3, 2019 at 8:11 pm

    1) Spec EPIC FSR
    2) Nicoli SATURN 11
    3) Felt EDICT
    4) Scott SPARK
    5) Spec EPIC HT

  33. OugaBoogaShockwave on July 3, 2019 at 8:12 pm

Specialized is kinda weird with the way they design bikes, they flip flop with there designs often going back to older styles. The epic HT reminds me of the mid-late 90’s "round" frames while early 90’s are like 2000’s with the tapered bottom tube & direct drive rear triangle.
I like this epic but i do like the tapered frames.

  34. Msebishi mwinyi on July 3, 2019 at 8:16 pm

I can’t manege this price,,how much for used one?

  35. Jervi on July 3, 2019 at 8:16 pm

    XC or DH?

  36. Brian Bsrt on July 3, 2019 at 8:17 pm

Crazy how big, fat and heavy the bikes have gotten over the years. A 26 or 27.5 Epic hardtail as light as possible would be nice.

  37. Franklin Arízaga on July 3, 2019 at 8:18 pm

Specialized epic hardtail is ok but the epic full suspensión???? No way!! . There are better bikes like, Giant Anthem, canyon exceed, trek Procaliber 9, and more. There are bikes with better geometry and better configurations and price like Canyon!

  38. 95thRiflesOCI on July 3, 2019 at 8:20 pm

Specialized Epic actually became much worst this generation. In 2009 they killed a fast hardtail version and added almost 1 lb more weight and less stiffness to the frame. Not sure what they were thinking but they really ruined a super bike.

  39. Msebishi mwinyi on July 3, 2019 at 8:22 pm

I like this bike,, how much for used bike.?

  40. Chihiro Gustafson on July 3, 2019 at 8:26 pm

In video epic is labeled as epic fsr they got rid of fsr

  41. Don Fraser on July 3, 2019 at 8:26 pm

2018 Specialized Epic is not a FSR anymore as listed here… but it is even better than ever, my a 2018 Epic, its a rocketship..

@A or Ta damn that’s an old bike. the tech is probably still on par with entry level mtb’s though… but the material must be really worn out.
