Derailleur Hanger Alignment Gauge (Park Tools DAG-2 or similar) – shifting performance goes down too fast, cable and housing are supposed to be fine? Check the hanger 😀

Do you guys reuse the master links or there is an increasing danger of snapping after reusing?

  6. Travis VanderLaan on July 12, 2019 at 12:14 am

  12. Michael Zwiener on July 12, 2019 at 12:26 am

I got a lot of really cheap and trashy tools and wanna get a little upgrade. Can you recommend a toolkit that covers most of the jobs without breaking the bank? I ride several bikes, so I need the basics that I can use on most of them. Park tool is great but they are premium.

  13. Levent Zistoğlu on July 12, 2019 at 12:28 am

Buy one Bosch (or any other good brand) electric screwdriver with torque adjustment and a good set of bits. You will need hand tools nomore!

  26. ThatGuyThatDoesStuff on July 12, 2019 at 12:42 am

    That Topeak pump is $150++.

You can get a decent compressor and all kinds of attachments along with a prestaflator for the same price. An analog Prestaflator is $39. If you want digital, $79.

The pump is portable, but not like you can take it out on the trails. You still end up having to have a mini pump with you.

Maybe if the pump was $80, you could consider it an alternative to a compressor.

But all that pump can do is pump up bike tires. It can’t run air tools, it can’t be used as compressed air for bike cleaning and maintenance tasks.

A compressor and a Prestaflator is the ultimate solution.

  32. Oliver Lückl on July 12, 2019 at 12:48 am

Those are exactly the tools I bought myself within my first 2 years of mountainbiking. Nice video!

Maybe not completely bike related, but honestly, I can’t live without my Leatherman Surge 😀

    🍺

  35. Cracka on July 12, 2019 at 12:51 am

Cone spanners are not really necessary. I think the biggest mistake you can do is waste money on bike specific tools, when most regular tools in the shed can do the job almost equally well.

  36. Kalen Konrad on July 12, 2019 at 12:52 am

Make this video but with specialty tools

Chain pliers is a total waste. Just use your hands, because you need nothing else.

  48. Sam Falk on July 12, 2019 at 1:08 am

I can’t live without my torque wrench

  49. Flynn Aldridge on July 12, 2019 at 1:09 am

I have never used a tyre lever. just use the handle end of a spoon

  50. MTB Ryder on July 12, 2019 at 1:09 am

I can do a lot on the bike with my 20 in 1 multi tool. One of the most handy bits of kit I have is the Shimano brake bleed funnel. Even when I’m fitting new brakes I put the funnel on and put a little mineral oil in there. Makes it a lot easier to push the pistons back and I can ‘pump’ the brake lever to remove any air bubbles.
