The streets of the Chilean city of Valparaíso were lit up by another thrilling running of the Red Bull Valparaíso Cerro Abajo urban DH race. The 16th edition of Red Bull Valparaíso Cerro Abajo didn’t disappoint, with the racing on the street-based urban DH course high octane from start to finish. In a close-run battle Tomáš Slavik took the win, with New Zealand’s Matt Walker second and local Chilean rider Matías Núñez rounding off the podium in third.

    These guys got balls of steel. Mountain bikes have come so far, can you imagine doing this on an old school mountain bike from the early 90’s with no suspension and rubber to rim brakes. I’m old enough to have had an orange and at the time didn’t think mountain bikes could get any better! Never get tired of these vids. By the way was it just me tilting my phone back towards the end 😂

    Tengo la impresión de que estuvo más intenso que años anteriores. Vi más rampas y pasadas complicadas. Y hasta creo que estuvo más rápido que en su anterior aparición.
    Lo otro que me gusta de VCA es que es espectáculo pa’l pueblo, pa’ los vecinos, pa’ que los disfruten todos sin más que asomarse a la puerta de la casa.
    Me pregunto cuantos cabros chicos en los cerros estarán imitando estas proezas, qué generación de deportistas extremos se está criando.
