This Guy Built His Own Indoor Bike Park…
Air Rec Center in Maple Ridge (just outside Vancouver) is a huge indoor bike park with dirt doubles, a wooden skatepark, resi ramp and even an inflatable airbag. Matteo tells us his story about how this place came into being and what it means to be able to have a business supporting the local riding community.

Good work man
i want to work there
I got a concussion on a resi ramp because my front tire slipped sideways and I went OTB. They arent that safe sadly.
Property tax will kill me also.
What a rock-star!
Regardless of who’s money it is, there’s still a lot of money on the line and he taking a big risk. Perhaps trying to prove his worth to his family, at the same time boosting his hobby? Who knows. Nonetheless, it’s pretty rad and commendable!
Add a food truck park to the outside of it. And charge the food trucks a percentage.
He built heaven on earth
sux but that building will probably be for lease/sale in under two years.. :(. hopefully not though.
What’s the radius of the airbag jump???
Thank you!
That’s not Scotty cranmers old warehouse bike park in Jersey is it known as the incline club
I dont see how that will ever pay for itself.

Watching this video wishing this was near Vancouver, then I read the description.
Taxation ruins everything, this is a prime example
This place is absolute heaven.

Crazy
That’s dope.
lol he flipped it for fast cash
what bike is he riding? some transition?
Taxes kills dreams.
I’m just a hop skip and a jump away duder Alberta il come checker out buds
its a catch 22, move to america, definitley lower property taxes on a building that size (except maybe in CA, NY), perhaps lower business taxes etc…however, here he captures less of a market share. He’s in the perfect spot for bringing in riders but the loons passing laws that are not helping him, infact hurting him. What a racket. Good luck, looks amazing.
Mad props from CA bro for 1 big ass reason. When I grew up the small parks we had were disappearing like crazy along with any and all teen centers. Race tracks were sparse and forsed us to well do bad. Always keeping to our roots we always rode bmx no matter what. Now at 45 years old I’m seeing skate prks come back and we need much more but its a start. No matter how much money this guys has is none of our business! His dream is epic and I’m glad he accomplished it!
Seems like a really smart guy
So Yeah, And Yeah, You Know yeah, Like Yeah….
This makes me Airrect π
I do commercial development and I know all too well the cost of property taxes on large projects. The municipalities lose so many businesses, because they want to make a fortune off business owners and they end up killing the cow that makes the milk. π€¦ββοΈ
are you gonna build a vert ramp? are you also gonna masonite all the ramps in future?
You know, so yea, like, you know, and yea
You wouldn’t have all of these struggles if you speak to someone who knows what they’re doing, not to mention it will save a ton of time and money. Dont be so proud
The problem with his business plan is it relies on brokeass BMX riders.
For all you young progressive liberals watching this.. taxes is one of this guys biggest issues. Remember that!!!
However it’s not his OWN indoor bike park… it’s a business!
