Surviving the SLOP at Mont Sainte-Anne | Mountain Biking Quebec City

Six months ago I came to Quebec City to ride fat bikes in the snow. It was a great adventure, but my heart and wheels belong on the rocks. I met a bunch of great people on that trip and this time around they’re going to show me the summertime fun in Quebec.

And oh my goodness it was fun.

Man … your DT rims are holding up good??? … maybe time for me to take a look at them. But you run cushcore on both front and back right?

  3. faizal rusli on July 17, 2019 at 12:21 am

    That trail looks gnarly

  4. Bryce Burgart on July 17, 2019 at 12:21 am

A great reminder… WINTER IS COMING!!! But biking is still fun. Even when wet (Vancouver tip… after the ride put your jacket on the car seat inside out to keep the mud somewhat off your driver seat!)

  5. Mark Jones on July 17, 2019 at 12:22 am

Those trails look amazing. Would love to ride out there, too bad about all the mud though. πŸ’©

I know you’ve really worked on getting better and it shows but you really stepped it up when you got the Orbea Rallion. Keep up the great rides and videos, looking forward to each one.

  8. Christian Burrell on July 17, 2019 at 12:25 am

All that way and you didn’t attempt the most famous tech feature in the world?! I feel cheated. You need another trip out there.

It’s funny how I see some of those trails (the big ones) and all I can think about is "Damn… I can’t wait to snowboard down those hills this winter" πŸ˜‚

Thanks for teaching about the dangers of wet roots with your face.

  16. Tony's Hobbies on July 17, 2019 at 12:33 am

Crazy riding! Wet roots freak me out, add rocks to the mix and I’d probably be walking

  24. Andrzej Sawicki on July 17, 2019 at 12:44 am

I think the double blacks had more rocks and diagonal roots coming out of nowhere.

  25. Goldenmulletman on July 17, 2019 at 12:44 am

Dang, you drove from California to Quebec City! That’s one hell of a road trip, I loved your Michigan videos too, can’t wait to see where you bike next.

  27. VTT ENDURO avec Captain Bugey on July 17, 2019 at 12:45 am

Ahah = fine, fun / ohoh = rough / ohhh = close call / ihihihih = steep. Some variations may apply but here are the basic BKXC trail’s language.

  28. Nick Cummins on July 17, 2019 at 12:46 am

You know the weather here, is payback for the nice dry rides you had in Wales and Scotland, right? Nice edit as always

  29. NegKreyol87 on July 17, 2019 at 12:46 am

Quebec city is a bikers paradise. Not just for mountain bikes but road bikes to. The city landscape is mesmerizing.

  30. v1d300 on July 17, 2019 at 12:48 am

Brian really has stepped up his game. Good going.

  31. Mountainbike-Mike on July 17, 2019 at 12:49 am

I’m so amazed by your progression. About a year ago there were lots of "ehh, nooot doing that". Now your progression gives you so much more confidence in your ability.

So now we see funny stuff like this mad conditions and a Brian that’s looking for more exciting lines and jumps which makes for good content.

Maybe there’s hope for me to πŸ˜‚

  32. Subiedh47 on July 17, 2019 at 12:50 am

    11:10 sick line!!

  33. Jack Adler on July 17, 2019 at 12:55 am

All the gnarliness rolled into one OTB section after another. Definitely a progression ride for you. They should host an EWS race there, that’s how good it looks.

  34. Worldwide Cyclery on July 17, 2019 at 12:56 am

MSA is legendary! Looked like some serious fun πŸ™‚

Fuck nuggets you handled those wall rides, drop offs and chuets like a champ. When your on your game your on your game!!!. Loved all that Rocky jank, reminds me of stuff within an hour’s drive all round me here in Southern Ontario. Just not as long and with nice long decsents. You ride the slip and slide well.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
