Looks like a TV show. Restore the bike in 20 minutes or less.
It’s easy when most all you have to do is take it apart and clean it up.

That is probably the most sympathetic resto ive seen on YT. Clean it , straighten it , regrease it, give it a wipe of oil and you have preserved the history of that bike. Well done.

Restored to the perfect level, keeping all it’s previous triumphs and loses in its’s DNA. Great work.

Made me think of the Schwinn varsity I bought with the money I earned delivering news papers in 1967.

im not excited about restoring old bikes, because bike companies are making new bikes that look like almost exactly like the vintage bikes….and with better quality parts

Back in 1963 that was the going to school bike, paper route bike, errands bike, go places where I wasn’t supposed to ride bike. It did its job very well.

My mom had a similar box, same moxy frame… I believe it was a Schwinn Deluxe… Is there such a bike as a Schwinn Deluxe? Don’t believe the chainguard protector said anything other than Schwinn Deluxe but it looked very similar to this or a Hornet without the gas tank thing and without the springer fork. Anybody know Schwinns very well?

Great. Oily rag restoration. It looks fantastic.

  27. SR_fotografia on July 24, 2022 at 11:46 pm

I don’t like IT. You polish Chrome’s but jeep the olx painting with few pointu of new spray. You should do the full restoration with clear the farmę and reprint using oryginal paint scheme. Wheels need more work to do witch so i put dislike here- sorry 🙁

Killer bike. I just picked up a 63 schwinn american in radiant blue with chrome fenders.

  31. SeaMonkey137 on July 24, 2022 at 11:52 pm

Very nice work. I have no idea if the blacked out wheels are period correct, but they don’t look out of place at all to me. In fact they look great.

  35. diy dark matter on July 24, 2022 at 11:57 pm

good job glad you dint strip the paint off it . and saved it for another generation or 2 . alot of people would have seen the broken frame and threw it out . you should have replaced them broken spokes . and greased the hubs . but nice job .

The little baby girl made the video more priceless to see. Great rebuild, can’t wait to see if you are going to rebuild the other bicycle projects seen early in the video. Thank you for inspiring other people to work on their bicycles.

  38. Thomas S on July 25, 2022 at 12:02 am

Crude at best. Do it right or don’t do it at all. 👎

  39. Art Gonzalez on July 25, 2022 at 12:03 am

    Never use water!
    Why? water creates rust.
WD 40 cleans and protects from rusting!

  40. Michael Langford on July 25, 2022 at 12:03 am
