  2. dat Denver broncos fan on June 27, 2019 at 8:28 pm

I have a riddell revolution speed and I like it

  3. l Fizzey l on June 27, 2019 at 8:28 pm

Riddell hasn’t made many innovations to the padding used in the helmets. Only really exterior design changes and the flex point on the speed flex.

  4. Manuel Guzman on June 27, 2019 at 8:30 pm

Get to the point man ! You hesitate so much i literally check out , but the topic is on point ..

  5. Dale Martin on June 27, 2019 at 8:31 pm

Used the link you posted. And the Speedflex precision is the 3rd highest rated, although I’m not sure the difference of the speedflex and speedflex precision.

  6. Sarah Thielke on June 27, 2019 at 8:31 pm

i got 2 concusstions in the schutt f7

  7. Jay Scharein on June 27, 2019 at 8:33 pm

It’s not about marketing the speed flex just feels better than other helmets when you get hit

  8. Saucy God52 on June 27, 2019 at 8:33 pm

Last time i checked Virginia Tech ranked it at #3 wtf??

  9. icylucero13 on June 27, 2019 at 8:35 pm

I want to get an X2E or a speed, but I don’t have any shops near me that sell the helmets and can fit me. Currently rocking school provided helmets which are pretty suspect 😂😂

  10. Toasty Things on June 27, 2019 at 8:36 pm

Hey there, the chart from the NFL you linked in the description also says: These test results should not be extrapolated to college or High School Football." Why does this apply? Should I not orientate myself to it if I play football in a lower level than the NFL? Thanks in advance for your help.

  11. Beck Kjeldbjerg on June 27, 2019 at 8:36 pm

    I’ve used a revolution and a speed

  14. Bob The builder on June 27, 2019 at 8:37 pm

    I want a viciszero1

  15. Tanner Ward on June 27, 2019 at 8:37 pm

I wore a vicis helmet for the first time. Our coaches ordered 7, one for every quarterback and I got one. The week going into the 6th game of the season the coaches checked everyone’s helmets for breaks or cracks, and my coach fond a crack below my right ear and one above the bumper. I don’t know what happened. I loved wearing my vicis helmet, but i went back to a speed flex, and I’m going to stick with a speed flex. They are both great helmets. They fit comfortably, they are both like, but my speedflex can take harder hits.

  16. EchoSixBond on June 27, 2019 at 8:40 pm

We leave the scientific stuff to VT, NFL, and other experts. Looking to replace our entire inventory, our youth program BoD did a comparative evaluation limiting models to 5-star VT rating and considered 1) comfort, 2) fit (both head and chin strap), 3) vision, 4) cost. Total scoring, Riddell Speed and Speedflex came in #1. We found weight in Xenith being a problem with our younger players but their chin strap design and fit is #1 of all helmets. Schutt is a light helmet but chin strap fit is last behind Xenith and Riddell, also the vision through face guard isn’t as great as the other two unless we separately ordered Super Pro.

  17. akkifakki on June 27, 2019 at 8:42 pm

  26. Orly Ray on June 27, 2019 at 8:53 pm

To be fair, Virginia Tech HR has the SpeedFlex as the 3rd best helmet.

  34. DDS029 on June 27, 2019 at 9:06 pm

I am really surprised about the SG knowing the people behind the company. Bill Simpson has been making racing helmets for as long as I can remember. Chip Gannassi is a former IndyCar racer who now has multiple race teams in many forms of racing, which means many drivers to get info about comfort and impact resistance the can be incorporated in other safety equipment. My guess is that the SG helmets weren’t built to pass an arbtrary test from first time testers, but real world experience. I know how athletes are resistant to change, and how much is the teams getting from their supplier is important to teams and College Athletic Dept. But these guys have experience with SERIOUS head protection, and professional racers seem to have less concussions than football players. Something isn’t adding up. My guess it’s money. In professional racing all suppliers will pay a driver to wear their stuff, so money isn’t an issue. They can choose where they get their equipment. It’s very individualized and custom fit. Not every driver on a team usually wears the same brand.

  40. Tom Monahan on June 27, 2019 at 9:17 pm

Off topic but is that yellow helmet over your left shoulder an old school Arizona State helmet with the devel side decals?

  41. Antonio Smith on June 27, 2019 at 9:19 pm

The speedflex should be in top five

  42. Cezarrio McQueen on June 27, 2019 at 9:20 pm

My favorite helmet was the rawlings nrg helmet. I loved the design and it was super comfortable. Never got one concussion whilr wearing it

  43. bajric benjamin on June 27, 2019 at 9:20 pm

( sorry if my english is bad, i’m french ) I have a revo speed helmet. I’m a lineman and i always take hit with my helmet, for me the revo speed is the best in the protection, the air fit and the comfort

  44. Devolo _12 on June 27, 2019 at 9:21 pm

The Virginia tech raited the Speed flex in 2018 at on of the best and the nfl lobratory raited them Not so good but which rating is better

  45. Dominic Gonzalez on June 27, 2019 at 9:22 pm

I’m not sure if you folks at green grid iron would know the answer to my question considering you guys primarily work with face masks, do you think a varsity revo speed classic with a unequal technologies gyro helmet liner be more protective than a varsity air xp pro VDT ii without the gyro helmet liner

  46. FaZe_ Gohan on June 27, 2019 at 9:22 pm

  49. Brad Carss on June 27, 2019 at 9:24 pm

Xeniths are at the top of both the NFL and the VT lists and are the most affordable. We are on our last year of use for our Xeniths and will be getting them for 2019 on.

  50. A real nigga named sam on June 27, 2019 at 9:26 pm

Remember this is NFL level so if your in middle or high school some of the helmets you wear or want wear that aren’t on here might be ok for you to wear but check first
