I actually wanted to see the "thermanator".

  2. Michael Ritchie on August 1, 2022 at 12:22 am

Ollie…. what are those sweet sunglasses you wear in this video?

  3. Jeff C.S on August 1, 2022 at 12:26 am

Who’s going to buy the Aether now? This is better in every way at a lower price point. Not sure why Giro would market such a model. In my opinion, the Aether was overpriced to begin with.

  4. adiirwan on August 1, 2022 at 12:28 am

wish i can win this in 2021

  5. Jack Frost on August 1, 2022 at 12:28 am

Yeah and it costs about 50p to actually make !!!

  6. Jim H on August 1, 2022 at 12:29 am

Been tossing the idea of getting an Aether for some time. Upgrading from my prior Giro. I may have to think about this one more before pulling the trigger.

Where’s the Asian Fit models? My spherical head can’t fit the Western fit models

Hey, I have some questions for my DYI Restoration/upgrade project:
    1) Can I put a rear derailleur cable completely in the cable housing from the lever to the derailleur? Or do I have to keep uncovered parts of cable on top tube and seat stay? same question about V-brake cable…
    2) will Shimano Sora lever work with Alivio Vbrakes and any 9-speed MTB rear derailleur?
    3) do you recall any 26 inch wheels with black braking surface? I didn’t find any.
    Thanks in advance!

Looks like it has the sweat pad thing hanging out front like the Z20?

  10. Philm on August 1, 2022 at 12:32 am

I bought myself my fist roadbike a Cube Attain GTC SL this year, and everything that comes with it (kit, helmet, shoes… you name it)
I saw this helmet at my local bikeshop and thought it looks pretty cool, but then i saw the price tag and thought ok it looks good but its rather expansive and there are a lot cheaper options on the shelf. The bike shop employee explained to me what the MIPS system is and he convinced me to get the more expensive Giro HELIOS Spherical.

Fast forward a few months later, to be more precise 2 days ago I had a severe crash. I hit the breaks to hard on a rather normal descend and ended up flying over the handlebars and landed on my head an face.
I lost a few teeth, my upper lip had to be stiched together and i pierced my tongue. But i had no concussion nor went unconscious thanks to this Helmet. I would absolutely buy this badboy again, when i‘m ready to hit the roads again. 👍🏼 10/10 would recommend

Didn’t Giro make the Helios about 20 years ago? I’m sure I had one.

  12. Slobodan98 on August 1, 2022 at 12:34 am

I like the way they talk loads about the helmet but never talk about the price !

  13. Glenn Wenceslao on August 1, 2022 at 12:35 am

how can i win those cool helmets im in th philippines

  14. Hey John on August 1, 2022 at 12:37 am

Nice. Too bad it can’t be shipped to the US

  15. John Henrick on August 1, 2022 at 12:38 am

$250 and comes complete with no visor. When the sun is low, and sunglasses don’t help, it can be quite difficult to see potholes and other obstructions in the road. A visor overcomes that. But to be fair, none of the helmet makers provide a decent visor. I had to make an extension for mine, out of a piece of old inner tube, hot-glued to the visor. It works great! Because Florida is hot, I do my riding in the mornings and evenings when the sun is low.

I guess my two Kasks are old hat, eh?

  17. Frank Torleif Mathisen on August 1, 2022 at 12:40 am

Giro is owned by Vista outdoor and they support NRA(National Rifle association). Several sport shops in USA has stopped selling Giro equipment because of their owners support to NRA. I think you should join the boycott.

  18. Jay C on August 1, 2022 at 12:41 am

Nice nice helmet AND nice sun glasses……. what are they ……? the ones you wear in clip of you on bike???

  19. Ayley Leynes on August 1, 2022 at 12:42 am

#AskGCNTech Not a tech question but how many bikes do you own?

  20. mikegaffney64 on August 1, 2022 at 12:43 am

love the channel, I am addicted and love the humour too, Mike in NZ

  21. senseamp on August 1, 2022 at 12:45 am

Great helmet for test dummies with bald rubber heads. Any actual rider with hair only has to rub their head to realize the have a slip plane already.

  22. Tom Long on August 1, 2022 at 12:46 am

Glad you’re back with Giro. Bell helmets look so bad.

  23. Conor Verbruggen on August 1, 2022 at 12:46 am

    This isn’t a Canyon Speedmax… 🤔

  24. Peter Plagge on August 1, 2022 at 12:48 am

Ball and socket design — like my bald head with a skid lid on it. Lovely looking.

  25. Bad Robot on August 1, 2022 at 12:48 am

How about telling us, what the strap is like, how comfy is it? All that would have been helpful.. However I have just bought one of these and I feel I need to do my own review which wil be a bit more balanced and less arse kissing? 🤔

  26. Jimmy Oldbikepunk on August 1, 2022 at 12:48 am

Nice. Hopefully that will cut down on the noise of the rattle trap mips

  27. Dan Carlo Collado on August 1, 2022 at 12:50 am

Does it hold your sunnies well?

  28. Fr Re on August 1, 2022 at 12:52 am

I would need a new helmet anyway!

  29. SolitaryRefinement on August 1, 2022 at 12:53 am

I’m all for new tech that ups the safety game, but my 2010 Giro Prolight helmet is still 210g, still the sexiest lid Giro ever produced and still the most comfortable "disappear on your head" helmet I’ve ever owned a decade later.

  30. Dragon Lady on August 1, 2022 at 12:53 am

If you never crash or drop it, can you wear it indefinitely or do helmets have a life span?

  31. Johan Siren on August 1, 2022 at 12:54 am

Dear Santa. I wish; A new helmet and new wheels. Size L. thank you in advance.

  32. Maciej Pilichowski on August 1, 2022 at 12:55 am

I don’t get why Giro (or any other manufacturer) do not shape visors in such way that it (visor) would have "hooks" matching holes and thus it would be possible to attach visor to road helmet. I know there are MTB helmets, but the trend nowadays is to make solid helmet with 3 huge holes in it and call it a MTB helmet (POC started this trend I believe).

  33. Gary Bowles on August 1, 2022 at 12:58 am

Have entered. Think it will go great with my two GCN outfits!!

  34. EX0stasis on August 1, 2022 at 1:00 am

I have an oddly shaped crown of my head, and Giro is one of the only brands at my local bike shop that fits me without any pain.

  35. James Yue on August 1, 2022 at 1:01 am

    no sunglasses arm slots?

  36. Mark Pfeiffer on August 1, 2022 at 1:02 am

You realize Giro is owned by a gun company that supports the NRA, right? I don’t think GCN should be affiliated with Giro.

  37. Andrew Brown on August 1, 2022 at 1:02 am

I could use a new Giro!

  38. SKANDaR0875 on August 1, 2022 at 1:05 am

What happens if get an unluckily below to the red sides (the underline helmet ), it seems to not have mips protection there?

  39. Gary Bowles on August 1, 2022 at 1:06 am

Ollie, I heard you say (not sure if on this video) that the sweatshirts were on offer and to look at the shop. Just looked and still same price? Where should I be looking? Thanks 👍🏼

  40. Laura Scheffer on August 1, 2022 at 1:07 am

This is cool! I have been looking for a new helmet the past weeks and I really want a red and black one to match my bike. I just saw it on their website with a touch of white too. Really awesome.

  41. GCN Tech on August 1, 2022 at 1:09 am

What do you think of the NEW Giro Helios Spherical? Let us know in the comments below!

  42. C B on August 1, 2022 at 1:11 am

    Will it hold sunglasses securely?

  43. MJimish on August 1, 2022 at 1:11 am

    Hi! I’m a fan From 🇵🇭 here.

  44. Igor Klajo on August 1, 2022 at 1:13 am

This one looks sexy, especially the GCN red gradient color on the side bottom part. Nice touch.
I need a new helmet and this seems to be one I could buy, if I don’t win it. Had a small accident a few weeks ago where I broke my Synthe which is extremely good and safe (believe me, tested it, my head is still in one piece) and it has those nice vent holes that are perfect to keep your sunglasses when not in use.
My plan was to get another Synthe, for obvious reasons, but the Helios Spherical could be my next helmet 😀

  45. Roger Nordio on August 1, 2022 at 1:15 am

    goooooooo new helmet

  46. Froilan Mercado on August 1, 2022 at 1:17 am

Giro helios spherical vs s works prevail vent

  47. Larison Johnson on August 1, 2022 at 1:17 am

Ollie…”A robot head thingy”…that was the best you could think up? 🤣🤣🤣 Giro marketing and research/development departments are just cringing! Even “Boaty” sounds better. Helmet looks sweet!

  48. Jason Latorre on August 1, 2022 at 1:18 am

Giro: Yo dawg I heard you like helmets, so I put a helmet inside of a helmet so you can headbang to Unsung by Helmet until hell’s met. We’ve also put GCN logos on it, you’ve officially been pimped.

  49. Stephen on August 1, 2022 at 1:18 am

That "GCN" colored Helios would match my 1998 Pinarello perfectly… but the fact that I ride a 22 year old bike says I can’t afford to purchase one. LOL

  50. Elmer Richardson on August 1, 2022 at 1:19 am

It’s ok, but I want the Aether as soon as I come with $300.
