Mountain Biking: I Broke My Neck, The Road to Recovery #1

Mountain Biking: I Broke My Neck, The Road to Recovery #1

March 11th I shattered my C7 vertebrae and fractured my C6 and T4 in a mountain biking accident. My C7 had to be replaced with a block and fused anteriorly and posteriorly. When I crashed I initially had no movement in either leg and slowly gained control in the left leg by the time I arrived to the hospital. After my first surgery there was still no movement in my right leg and I was still worried that I would never have control of my right leg again, until the following day when I was able to flex my quad. I went for second a surgery and 8 days after breaking my neck I stood up twice . I still have a lot of work to accomplish and will continue to push the limits. I know its hard to ask for help but there is a GoFund me account set up to help pay for the Helo vac, other expensive medical bills and physical therapy since insurances are a hassle and most likely won’t pay for everything. If you can’t help with that, words of encouragement get me through the day. Keep an eye out for physical therapy and improvement videos. Thanks for watching and the support.
