I’m going to use my mountain bike on this trainer; should I change the tyre to a smooth tread or can I keep the tyre that I have on?

Hi Justin, love the videos! Thanks! Quick question: I am about to buy either the fluid Kurt or Fluid2 trainer (newbie road rider in NJ, gotta move to my pain cave in heated garage thx to cold winters… will use likely 2-3 times a week)… and I notice Saris now has a "Smart Equipped" Fluid2 model with the sensor built in to use ZPower with Zwift, etc. (I’m not yet a Zwift user). That said, won’t I get more utility out of a sensor that attaches to the bike (pedals?… other?) so I can also get metrics when I’m outdoor riding? If yes, what do you recommend for a separately bought sensor?

I upgraded from a mag trainer that had 5 settings to a fluid trainer. The fluid trainer is so much harder than the mag trainer!

In the summer spring and fall I use my bike trainer in my backyard

Great tips Justin! I just wanted to mention that the subtitles are set to Korean for some reason. I just purchased an indoor cycle and I will use a lot of these tips.

Another great video Justin! Good to see you dude! Looking fit and lean. I also recommend a table of some sort that sits in front of your bike to set up your ipad, laptop for Zwift and maybe a fan or whatever.

Good tips! Q: with a smart trainer, how should we choose our gearing to reduce wear and tear on the bike?

What tips do you have to make indoor bike training better?

  17. Engel888 on October 4, 2022 at 5:12 am

If I can ask some advice:

    1. I have a Tacx Bushido. It may break soon.

All I want to do is spin on a Turbo using the gears as resistance. I don’t need a monitor system.

    2. I want a turbo which is compact to fold up like the Bushido. The Flux is huge. I have limited space.

    3. I don’t want to pay a monthly fee to use an app. My Garmin watch is fine.

    4. I am a complete novice and only use the Turbo twice a week in the winter max.

Which turbo do u buy?. My Bushido is perfect. I wish they would make more .

Would you recommend the kickr core or Kurt kinetic for a beginner?

Hmm… so your FTP is supposed to be the power you can hold for an hour, so if someone can’t hold 70% of their FTP for 20 minutes, then it must not be their FTP.! Just saying’. I like your videos.

Nice tip using the honey-salt mix. I will definitely check it out!
