If you guys could do a “how to service your bike” video for beginners that would be 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Hey Everyone! We had a bunch of people asking for a little more in depth info about b tension so I threw together a little video this morning that will hopefully clear up some confusion on my personal channel 🙂 https://youtu.be/TGCM2DTsozk

Thank u so much man that really worked, shifts like a dream

  6. Aslmx 1 on November 18, 2022 at 5:28 am

Should you be able to pedal backwards if the bike is tuned properly? I tried to set mine and it does fine forward but if you pedal backwards the chain jumps off.

    Very descriptive thanks guys

  9. Zen Tex on November 18, 2022 at 5:31 am

Wow, fine video. Now I feel more confident about setting up and maintaining my derailleur.

  10. carlos guerrero on November 18, 2022 at 5:32 am

Thank you so much, I’ve never seen such a quick, simple and efficient way to do this, did it this morning on my new drivetrain and we are ready to shred

  11. Mike Casebolt on November 18, 2022 at 5:34 am

    HELP!
I can’t figure out why my chain slips (ghost shifts) on the two highest gears and only under torque!
It only seems to do it when I’m on the smallest cog.

Hello! Hope your doing well, just like to ask for your opinion I want to upgrade to 8 speed 11×42 sprocket can give me advise on which derailiur is compatiblle on this set up, I’am thinking of shimano tx800 w/out using goat link. Can you give me word of advise, tnx 😊

  25. Dan Matelsky on November 18, 2022 at 5:53 am

Who are you talking to ? You explain to the experts, not to us.

  26. gary duran on November 18, 2022 at 5:54 am

    Excellent, thank you

  27. Rhel Jarrard on November 18, 2022 at 5:56 am

I’m still afraid to touch my derailleur. If I F it up, I can’t ride and the bike goes to the shop. But if I mess with it and LEARN, I never have to count on someone else to fix my problems. I hate gambling! Lol

  28. Ian Poppleton on November 18, 2022 at 5:57 am

What a fantastic tutorial. I’ve watched countless video’s before and never been able to master the process. I went straight out with my iPad and whilst watching your tutorial I dialled in and tuned my derailer properly. It now slips up and down the gears like butter.

  29. Ping-Pong Dong on November 18, 2022 at 5:58 am

Really good instructions. It helped me a lot. Thanks!

  30. Andres Cen on November 18, 2022 at 5:59 am

What does it mean if the deraileur is literally flopping? When I pedal forward or backward it constantly springs back.

  31. Jimmie Howard on November 18, 2022 at 5:59 am

    thank you for video

  32. Issac F on November 18, 2022 at 5:59 am

re: ending: LOL!!! she’s ADORABLE. now that we know this… what about you? are you adorable? are you in any videos? >.> 🤔😏

  34. Jorge Pantoja on November 18, 2022 at 6:01 am

Great explanatory video! I tried other videos before but this was the only one that made me get the job done on my rear derailleur. Follow every step, don’t skip or jump steps, and you’ll get there.

  35. John Manaloto on November 18, 2022 at 6:03 am

This was soooo effective and efficient. I applied the steps to a sram X01 mech that was all out of whack as a result of a crash.

Just like you said Kyle, it doesn’t matter what brand mech you have, the tuning method will still work!

Can’t thank you enough for the great content you produce – it is effective, helpful, honest, genuine, and delivered humbly. Thank you Kyle & April!!

Best video on set up for derailleurs by far

  37. Dane Peterson on November 18, 2022 at 6:06 am

So far my favorite tuning Vid 🤙🏼

  38. Jim Halpert on November 18, 2022 at 6:06 am

This is by far the best derailleur adjustment tutorial I have seen. Very well done and I liked especially that you mentioned and also showed every single step. Most other videos skip some steps, which makes them much harder to follow. It’s also really nice that you show both the correct and the wrong settings.

  39. Blake Stevens on November 18, 2022 at 6:07 am

Recently my bike has being shifting terribly and I couldnt work out how to fix it, this video help me so much and now my gears are working like new

  40. Tee Key on November 18, 2022 at 6:07 am

After replacing cable, it shifts only through 3 largest gears.

  41. Mountain Bike Ohio 281 on November 18, 2022 at 6:07 am

Yo I’ve been messing with my rear derailleur for over a year. Have watched like oh ya know 7 thousand videos on how to dial it in and I just learned how as well s have it completely dialed in.im serious,y’all could not comprehend how much I appreciate what you do and how thankful I am. Really!! Oh yeah,my girlfriend Lizzy says thanks to you both as well because she s pretty sure she’s not going to have to listen to my hour long talks about rear derailleurs!! Haaaaa. I’m super stoked and am about to head out the door with my bike shifting like straight " Butta"!! Thanks so much y’all and keep doing what your doing because it Matters and is so very much appreciated!! #Moto4Life

  42. S Wrigley on November 18, 2022 at 6:08 am

Thank you for including the B tension adjustment to pick up slack in the chain. Other tutorials I’ve seen don’t mention that at all and just say that you probably need a new chain (even when the chain is not stretched!). Awesome tutorial.

  43. Zing Hmuh on November 18, 2022 at 6:11 am

Thank you!!! I was able to tune my gears with ease.

  44. Andres Cen on November 18, 2022 at 6:11 am

Last week I paid $142 for a tuneup. I emailed the bike shop and will be taking my Trek Mamba back for them to check it out ‘again’ I wrote: Reference my rear derailleur adjustment. After your tuneup and adjustments my ‘ghost shifting’ issues are still there. Now they are worse than before, it’s jumping between cogs. I’ve attached a video link of my bike ride so that you can hear what it’s doing. Note, in the daytime video it shifted as I was leaving my driveway.

    soundtrack barely audible

  50. Anthony Sheffield on November 18, 2022 at 6:17 am

Best video I have seen on Derailleur setup where to begin / start with. This is the most detailed step by step explanation I have found. The screen shots with correct and incorrect positioning / comments is golden. Great stuff. Thanks!
