I doubt on the translation on the back 50T. One can already barely torque to the rear wheel to bring inclines of more than 20 ° to provide at a combination with 2 chainrings at 28/40T or 1 chainring at 30/42T with 11 speed derailleur! For this I would have to drive a chainring with minimum 34T! And what do I get out? Nothing but one transition more I will anyway never need!

And here’s me removing gears from my bike because half of them are unused…
Also don’t these 1×12 setups twist your chain badly? And how is he trailblazing without using a front chain guide is beyond me, that chain would be off every 5 minutes…

Backround music is too loud. The host mumbles when he talks. Speak clearly and turn the background music down.

Why would anyone spend 1k for a 1×12.
Hollis Princeon June 25, 2019 at 7:44 pm
I like that SRAM continues to innovate. Giving the consumer more options is a good thing. 1×11 works fine for me, I’d never go back to a 2x setup. When prices come down and/or the technology trickles down to X1, I’ll be going 1×12. You betcha.

I guess that new chain is compatible with 11 speed cassetes like Shimano XT M8000? I read that it’s redesigned to wear the drivetrain less.
