Draper, Utah = MTB City, USA | Mountain Biking with MTB yumyum

I spent a day in Draper, Utah, with Jason from MTB yumyum and I was blown away by the quality and quantity of mountain bike trails. The city has a cycle park with beginner and advanced jump lines, a pump track and eventually a velodrome. There were tons of boys and girls out this day practicing at the park and it was an amazing thing to see. The next generation of mountain bikers are growing up quick.

Does your town have Draper beat?

You’ll have to come back and bring Seth, Alex and Phil sometime!

  2. Ed Lopez on July 23, 2019 at 12:55 am

You’re having so much fun on mellow trails, imagine the fun you’ll have when you improve the jump skills πŸ‘πŸΌ keep it up

Take your time and progress at jumps as you feel comfortable. That being said, just know we are all waiting patiently for you to start catching some air… haha looking forward to the Africa videos man! Rock on

Great video Brian πŸ‘ you should build one of those trails in you back gardenπŸ˜‚ πŸ‘πŸ‘

  7. AgentChachi on July 23, 2019 at 12:58 am

Brian, get yourself to a camp or take a class/training session. You owe it to yourself to do so, as you’re a ripper, and if you can hit the jumps you’d be dialed! You don’t have to go huge or anything! It’s just a confidence thing, truly. A class or camp will totally help with the skills and the confidence. Good luck and keep ripping!

  8. Mum's Basement MTB on July 23, 2019 at 1:01 am

Hahaha Brian! Your reaction to the jumps in the beginning is literally me at snow summit. So relatable

  9. Nikki Tangtiphongkul on July 23, 2019 at 1:01 am

  10. MClark164 on July 23, 2019 at 1:01 am

Did anybody else have a Haro commercial before the video. Targeted marketing. How much Haro paying you BK?! Haha!

  11. Dumbledore on July 23, 2019 at 1:05 am

    Utah trails are the best!

  12. sam Lumley on July 23, 2019 at 1:05 am

Hey, Brian! We met a few weeks ago, kinda. Anyway, it was in Downieville at Yuba Expeditions. You had just finished doing an exploration ride of a newly rediscovered trail. I was the quiet chick just hanging out–waiting for my next shuttle. Just wanted to say keep up the good work. I enjoy your videos. Your advice and experiences have expanded my horizons, and you’ve given me some awesome ideas for future rides and adventures. Thanks!

Quieter hubs would be better for vids.

  14. Michael Hylton on July 23, 2019 at 1:07 am

I’ve been sitting/laying down for nearly three months recovering from cancer radiation treatments. I have a ton of time on my hands and so basically all I do most days is watch mountain bike videos. Sounds better than it really is.
Anyway I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your videos and traveling all over the world with you. For me it’s been my escape from the pain and bordem I’ve experienced over these last months. So thank you for that.
Also as a native Utahn I have to admit I was super excited to see you riding trails I’ve been on. I’m glad you found on of the gems that is riding in Utah. Of course we have Moab and St George. Those have been well documented areas that you yourself have documented. But there’s so much more great riding in Utah which makes it one the greatest places on planet earth.
An earlier post mentioned another one Utah’s hidden gems, the Logan area of cache valley. That’s where I currently reside and that writer spoke truth. If you ever make your way back through Utah again you should put this area on your list to explore.
Thanks again for all you do. I very much enjoy your content

  15. Ayden Rooklidge on July 23, 2019 at 1:07 am

he rode next to my house

  16. Stuart Pilling on July 23, 2019 at 1:11 am

Looks like the place was on fire! The reds and yellows of the leaves on the trees, and with the over exposure from the camera going through the shadows. Looks awesome!

  17. Lee Rackham on July 23, 2019 at 1:13 am

Hey Brian. What do you think would be more beneficial to your riding and riding in general. Being able to do small to medium jumps on the trail like in this video or endo turn on switchbacks.

  18. ThunderStruckCoach on July 23, 2019 at 1:14 am

That bike park….. wow! What a cool place to call home, although in the winter ‘cool’ might be replaced by miserable. Loved the riding and the new trails that I haven’t seen on yumyum…. Great stuff as usual brother.

  19. jacob january on July 23, 2019 at 1:14 am

Im not a great jumper but riding lots of dirt jump trails and building a lot has helped me. I soon learned that it hurts more going to slow than it does when you go to fast…most of the time.

  20. Compared to Pisgah on July 23, 2019 at 1:15 am

Looks fun dude! I hear ya on the wanting to tap your brakes at the lip of the jump…. What got me over this was doing sessions at dirt jump parks to get more comfortable with launching… I practice keeping my fingers totally wrapped around the bar, rather than a finger on the brake lever (like usual)…feels scary as hell at first!

    Great video as always! 🀘

  21. Alan Duke on July 23, 2019 at 1:16 am

This is literally 20 minutes from my house… Had a nasty wreck on levitate a couple months back. That trail is so fun though

  22. Only The Bold Project on July 23, 2019 at 1:16 am

Another Super Rad Ride!! I think its always awesome to get out and ride with people or group. Brings another element into the mix!! Great Stuff!!

  23. Eleanor Grant on July 23, 2019 at 1:17 am

My son is the same age as you, and I have to ask, how does your mum feel about those, you know, cliffside escapades? Toe curling!

  24. DoctorLo MTB on July 23, 2019 at 1:20 am

Thank goodness my cousin lives there, I’m going!

  25. Peter CPRail8748 on July 23, 2019 at 1:24 am

He is one luck son of bitch nuggets having all these great trails at his doorstep, just wow. By the way I think you should ride a black trail with no breaks installed that will cure your mental block of jumping lol.

By the way, way to go and tramitize a kid

  26. Junto on July 23, 2019 at 1:26 am

You published the video in December, when was the actual ride? I didn’t think Utah’s MTB season was that long.

  27. Bg Wordneemig on July 23, 2019 at 1:26 am

    Hello Brian!
Hightower is good or your Bronson? (I just ask it straight, not separated.)

  28. Dave Walsh on July 23, 2019 at 1:26 am

Hey Brian, love the videos. It might be worth your while checking out some of Ryan Leech’s online coaching videos, he has a great course on jumping. It starts with the absolute basics and gradually builds up to hitting tabletops. https://learn.ryanleech.com/p/jump-with-confidence

  29. David Mithen on July 23, 2019 at 1:27 am

Hey Brian I feel for you with the jumps as well as it’s something I struggle with too. Best jumps to practice on have a nice gentle slope for the landing and also, my fav recommendation for you, use flat pedals πŸ™‚

  30. Staying Active R A Warrior on July 23, 2019 at 1:27 am

Cool to see you riding the trails I ride! Glad you had fun! Next time you’re out, ride the crest trail down into Mill Creek. Fun ride. Also, you’re not wrong about seeing as many women as men riding. I’ve been up, some mornings, and only see women out riding the trails.

  31. Frankenbiker on July 23, 2019 at 1:28 am

that community looks great for mtb.

  32. Ali G on July 23, 2019 at 1:29 am

Looks like a really cool place to live.

  33. Peter Tobey on July 23, 2019 at 1:29 am

That looked like fun. Real fun. I don’t jump either. At 66 years young. Started riding when I was 30. Enjoyed the video.

  34. Victor on July 23, 2019 at 1:30 am

Bro I wish I had trails like that holy shit

  35. William Rivera on July 23, 2019 at 1:30 am

It’s just awesome how you get to try out all these different bikes, I’m planning on spending my first couple of thousands on one and your to blame for me wanting a Bronson man. Lol

  36. PVRR on July 23, 2019 at 1:30 am

You ride a Hightower again and it still matched your kit! Lol

  37. Victor Maza on July 23, 2019 at 1:32 am

I spent four months of my life in Utah years ago, I wish I had a bike back then, what a great ride !!!

  38. Walt Robinson on July 23, 2019 at 1:34 am

So many trails you’ve ridden are on my list! I’ve only flown into Salt Lake City for a layover but now I have a reason to camp out there! Fun ass riding!!!

  39. welljer on July 23, 2019 at 1:35 am

when you were in utah did you by chance do the crest trail to mill creek? I’ve seen that you like you 20 plus mile trails. that one is one of the best and just up the way from these trails.

  40. Brandon Richmond on July 23, 2019 at 1:36 am

What is the name of that trail? where can I find it online? It looks sick!

  41. Dan K on July 23, 2019 at 1:40 am

Jumps or not, still putting out good stuff. πŸ‘Œ

  42. Aenox Coden on July 23, 2019 at 1:44 am

    Mmmmmm "dusty chunk" !
Also Brian, think positive be positive!

  46. Tyler Hether on July 23, 2019 at 1:47 am

Why the time qualifier add? Do you need to ask a geologist or something?

  47. MrWiggnuts on July 23, 2019 at 1:47 am

Brian you can jump man. I promise. Just take the time and session some tables. Make it a video. We would all love to see that. Personally I recommend not filming. Stay focused and relaxed. Either way I believe in you.

  48. Sabbir on July 23, 2019 at 1:49 am

    Ride slowly

  49. Navarre on July 23, 2019 at 1:50 am

Draper keeps looking better and better as a MTB destination. I think Jason has been trying to keep it a secret by running the same trails over and over. πŸ™‚
