The Adamo is the best. I kept getting saddle sores from other saddles.

Totally ridiculous. Prove me wrong and take my 2 x 4 challenge: sit on a rounded 2 x 4 up on edge for an hour!

… there are such anatomical differences for men and women, this information can’t speak specifically to what saddle will do. I’ve gone through 8 saddles. I ride with an semi-aggressive position but on a relaxed frame design, Roubaix. I’ve been professionally fitted and yet I still can’t find a seat that will allow me to ride 30-50 miles. I’m running out of money just trying to find the right ride.

When I rode quite a bit, years ago, I went through at least 10 different saddles trying to find the most comfortable one. I quickly found that the shape is more important than the amount of padding, and that overly wide saddles become uncomfortable on long rides. Wearing bike-specific clothing designed with a non-chafing liner and no seams that you are sitting on are a big help too. The best saddle I ever found was an unusual Sofatti model made by Zeus, which looked narrow and hard but apparently had just the right amount of flex and the right shape. Now 25 years later I’m getting back into cycling, but not planning on riding as fast or as far, and shopping for a new saddle. The stuff I see on the market now looks really futuristic to me, but hopefully there’s some science behind it. I’m going to Performance Bike Shop tomorrow to buy something.

A good cutout saddle would allow you to take a dump without stopping on those long rides.

  24. Bas_ Lightyear on July 12, 2019 at 12:56 am

What kind of noob uses a saddle? Real pro’s just sit straight onto the seat post

  25. K.mersch on July 12, 2019 at 12:57 am

Should I get a 134mm wide saddle if my sit bone width is 110mm?

  26. Luciano Narno on July 12, 2019 at 12:59 am

I bought a really flat saddle, Giant connect. It was also cheap, it took a bit to get used to it but now I’d say it is 90% comfortable. Spending on a new saddle is not something I can justify, so I have to love this one. LOL.

I personally recommend the RIDO rlt saddle. Absolutely amazing and great value

  30. Tom C on July 12, 2019 at 1:03 am

It takes me about 2 weeks for my butt to adjust to my bike every summer after not riding because of winter.  The first day is the worst and you’re sore for about 2-3 days.  Second time riding is not as bad but you still get sore for about a day.  The third time riding my body completely adjusts to it.  This year though I’m using a padded biker shorts which reduces soreness on the first day to only 1 day.
