What does he’s know about off-road trail riding? The dude lives in downtown New York City and barely knows what a dirt trail even look like. How the heck is he gonna tell us how well the Gotway Mspro gonna perform in the dirt, when there ain’t no dirt in New York City! Is that what you are thinking? Tell the truth you were, weren’t you? Those are valid concerns and in many ways, how the Gotway Mspro rides off-road is a bigger questions than almost any other wheels, because with its headline feature of top of class torque output. It may just be the best off-road electric unicycle available on the market. But to test that claim I must reach deep into my roots and pull out all my mountain bike riding tricks and find a good spot with a nice bit of woods to see if its gonna be me or the MSPro that will break first! Are you ready for the ultimate off-road trail riding review of the MSPro, roll the intro! As always if you enjoy this video please like and subscribe and stay till the end for a special announcement. And I started a patreon page, if you like what I do help a brother out! Now I have conducted some quote unquote off-road trail riding test on the dirt path in Central Park; and had been roundly criticized for their lack of authentic off-road characteristics. And perhaps the commenters were right; Central Park after all, was design and build under the pastoral Victorian sensibility of what a idealized nature landscape should look like, something that is closer to a 19th century oil landscape from a museum. Which I am sure looks great above your fireplace, but likely not where you would want to test out an off-road vehicle that is worth its salt. And that is why we have came to a little know corner of that not quite as cool As Brooklyn borough of New York City and of course I meant Queens. This is Forest Park, which really is nothing more than a small patch of woods that sits on the border between Queens and Brooklyn and follows the meandering path of the infamous Interborough highway. Where I crashed while attempting to push 100mph on a 35mph Road in my foolish youth. But that’s a whole nother story.
The bit that we’re interested in, is this woody part. You see, forest park also happens to be right near where I grew up. And. It is criss-crossed with some of the best mountain bike trails in the city and as a boy with a crappy mountain bike and very little fear I spend hours in these woods doing thing that my parents best not know about. I have attempted these trails on both the Gotway Monster and the ninebot Z10 and I can tell you flat out that neither were up to the challenge. Although this is not a large park, the terrains are rough.
I’ve put 200 miles on my Z10 since this lockdown started and love it now more than ever.
Another one from my brother Hsiang. Nice
If Trail riding is doable or not is extremely rider based, more so than wheel based. But ofc a good wheel makes it easier. I’m riding trails like the one in the video a lot and even harder once with my GT ACM S+ and it’s doable. But then again i ride trails a lot so practice makes perfect. but would love to have a wheel like the MSP
I think you just sold a bunch of these as a second cycle.
When you test/review the EUC’s, do you have to be careful not to damage them too much or do you have free reign? As long as you don’t intentionally break them.
Hsiang
please dont tell me Ive wasted 10mins of my life…. It was the opposite. You sound like my Mother… she forgets I enjoy this, it hurts me in an odd non functional way, but I can see why you say it. please drop it. It interrupts my enjoyment.
One reason you couldn’t make it up that hill is because you weren’t squeezing the wheel with your legs. Both your legs were an inch or two away from the wheel. You’re missing out on some more torque. You’re relying on the weight from the tips of your toes only.
Can’t wait for your next video (how to loot on a euc) 🤣 na hope you’re safe
That’s a pretty nice trail. Smooth, hard surface, and wide.
How much it weight? I missed this information.
I’m sure you have heard about the new monster – 24inch wheels – 4000w motor – so pleased I passed on the MSP and who needs suspension with this beast – whatever niext?
Hmm I know the MSP is much stronger than my 18 XL but I’ve seen nothing I couldn’t do with my wheel. Well I managed to get two different over power alarms in the last week. One accelerating fast on a steep incline, what you should never do, and one crawling up another steep incline in the wood, fighting through with lots of leafes covered rocks and big branches. I feel like slowly outgrowing my wheel.
Hey! Great video! I do, want to add, I ride a lot of rough, rocky, rooty, stumpy, sometimes muddy (I go around or carry the wheel) and loose, trails with my year old, beat up V8. When I first went out to ride the trails, I started easy, yet quickly found out that the V8 could handle most it. Even fairly steep parts. I always ride at 40 psi tire press, for range efficiency. The high press has probably saved the V8’s rim from some of my "poor judgement" riding decisions. My biggest difficulty is hitting the pedals in the tight spots. Arrrr! Higher, steeper pedals would be nice. I’ve not found a point where the wheel can’t climb the grade as the tire slips before I reach that point. All this being said, and a lot of miles on the V8, I am now very interested in a wheel with suspension. I’m leaning towards the S18, yet I will wait until you and/or another reviewer posts their opinion. My V8 has been VERY faithful. Cutout once, my fault. It’s always ready for a ride! Charged of course! Peace…Guy
Do this EXACT same video again with suspension: KS-S18 and inMotion V11
Off road riding is where it’s at. It’s half of the fun.
The quality of this channel is amazing. I’m sharing it to my facebook groups. Your subs will shoot up. In about a year when this is more niche and it’s booming. People will come back to what will be these OG videos for guidance. Your a pioneer !!! Love your content man!
Will you consider putting a dual sport tire on and doing a video in more rugged terrain? I would love to watch that.
Forest Park is great for off-road riding. Subscribed!
In your opinion , which would be the more trustable wheel ? Best hardware & Software ? Thank you !!
I really enjoy your videos, but bro, you afraid of catching the kung flu while ridding an EUC? LOL
Why are you wearing a mask? Those things even say they are not effective against COVID, so why wear when you are alone going 30 mph?
There’s plenty of dirt in NYC. Lots of people live there.
I don’t believe I’ll ever see a better endorsement for the EUC. I’m thinking you’ll be going off road more when the traffic gets back to normal conditions, if only for the rest and recreational value
Great video!, I hadn’t even thought about mountain bike trails, can’t wait to go try some out, after watching how you tackled obstacles it’s given me the confidence to give it a go
The 16X is a beast off-road too, never found myself lacking torque and the 3" tire is great for stability. And that thing is DAMN NIMBLE for technical sections. The again, I’ve done some pretty crazy sh*t on my 18XL too, but the 16X blow it out of the water
Awesome I take my z10 in the Bronx behind van Cortlandt park similar terrain
Love your Videos man, I ordered the high speed version of the Msp from ewheels. can’t wait to get it.
Nice Video! I was just there a few days ago with my 14s and failed pretty hard lol
smaller MSuper better offroad than big Monster ???
I thought than bigger wheels allow ride easier through bums and holes…..? And bigger wheel allow ride to lower tire pressure, and low pressure=better suspension. Am I wrong?
What do You rate comfort of long riding on both wheels on bad, bumpy asphalt? Which one better and why?
At 10:30 the problem is not with the wheel, but with the riding technique.
Is this wheel a better choice than the 16 X?
Hi Hsiang, great video, before I moved to Florida used to live near Forest Park and go running there often but I wasn’t aware of those mountain biking trails. It was great to see you on the Pro tackling them like nobody’s business, and it was it was cool that you used the positive feature of that particular wheel. You also have a great way with words!
What the backpack is? How it is? Comfortable?

alone in the woods ….. in full mask….. 🙂
Seriously?
Thank you for sharing as always! 🙂 I live in Western Australia so seeing how you live in NY is awesome! I will hopefully share my journey soon!
You gotta get the MSS. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it before I buy
Why are you wearing a mask in the woods?
what is the percentage or euc riders riding off-road?
You have found my joy – EUCs on trails – please take your Z10 back to these same trails. I bet it will perform better than you remember given your love for it and for that forest. Once again we have been thinking about the same things this week check out ‘Everything you wanted to know about the Ninebot Z10 (but were afraid to ask)’ – https://youtu.be/u2Foizu-HF0 and To on or off (road)? That is the question of all EUCs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFZZN4fSm-s – Enjoy, and I still think the S18 would do a better job on these trails.
sorry, but any modern 16 inch wheel would tackle this ‘offroad’
Is it the original pedal angle of the MSP – like out of the box, or did you have you modified it? On every promo photos the pedal angle looks more angled.
Does the bluetooth speaker also play the warning beeps? Are the beeps louder than on the MSX?
Been doing tons of offroad and technical riding with my 18XL. Id LOVE that power at the moment, but i’m getting the monster next. Its been amazing though, especially with all this social distancing, to just hit a trail and get lost in the woods. Its slower paced. Uses almost no battery (somehow) and gets you hours of run. I cant wait to go back out there!
Loved the video. Hope you c an get back out there more and ride. Looks like a lot of fun!
Put a shinko 244 tire, pedal pegs/spikes and power pads on your MSP, then take it back on that trail and you’ll love it even more!!! You might even conquer that hill you didn’t make it up.
You just explained the very reason I can’t wait for my MSP (high torque) to come to it’s home here in the West Virginia mountains in a few weeks.
All these trail can be tackled with MSX 84v
