The fender thing gave me a laugh…the dreaded β€œfreshman stripe” back in college. πŸ˜‚ Valuable info even though I’m watching this for the first time in 2022! Really appreciate the info and your channel in general!

Pardon me, but having a video with k-level views and a sponsorship would really be worth the cost of a single CO2 cartridge.

I had a multi-tool that was almost as small as a big coin. On a bike trip to Ireland it got confiscated at the airport. My most important "tool" added lately is a Garmin Varia rearview radar, but i still have a mirror on the drop end. I go as light as possible with my bags, but still manage to carry a bunch of stuff (pump, tool, patch kit, rash kit, phone, tube, id, some money). Weighs about a pound.

Why what glasses were those red ones which were photochromatic?

  11. 2 Check on August 30, 2022 at 1:03 am

Hi Cruise. I really like that bicycle t-shirt. Can you tell me if you can still purchase one? Thanks and take care

  12. Bikers Quest on August 30, 2022 at 1:03 am

I’d definitely recommend getting something like a PitLock for wheels and maybe saddle if it’s expensive. You can then ditch the cable lock and it saves you time locking up.

  13. jamble7k on August 30, 2022 at 1:04 am

so when are we gonna get a preview of your new commute then Cruise, how is the new job?

  14. Joel Mora on August 30, 2022 at 1:05 am

Where can we get that shirt?

  15. james brady on August 30, 2022 at 1:06 am

I’ve done some long bike rides without tools, extra tubes and lucked out by not getting
Into trouble . after your video I,m going to invest in some of those items. You are one
Great talker . I have a silver mountain bike I put silver chrome fenders on it. Not only
Does it keep water from flying ,but it makes the bike look cool ! Lets gooo safely !

  16. ImHereForYourArtStream on August 30, 2022 at 1:07 am

Definitely my favorite Bike! I have a 2007 schwinn Madison. They Are the most reliable and the Simplicity is great just get on and ride no worries. Also very cool ratchet tool.
Have you upgraded anything on your Madison?

Who the fuck carries a huge backpack with bike tools to work?

  24. blex on August 30, 2022 at 1:14 am

i replaced tyre levers with small forks.
i find the way out myself.

  25. Something Else Here on August 30, 2022 at 1:16 am

From an MTB perspective, not commuting, a chain breaker tool and a quick link.

  26. Rhoel Alvarez on August 30, 2022 at 1:18 am

You should try putting a sealant in ur inner tube to prevent tyre puncture. I used sealant to fix tyre punctures in my tubular and u can also use it to fix inner tube puncture.

  27. RogueCode on August 30, 2022 at 1:21 am

why not the solid tires on this bike instead? less comfy but more reliable and you carry less stuff

  28. Luke Holloway on August 30, 2022 at 1:21 am

This tool is really unique lol

  29. Mishael Oblefias on August 30, 2022 at 1:22 am

What would you recommend for mounting the action cam? On the bike on your body or on your helmet?

    Here are my thoughts:
On the bike: needs DiCi mount. Stable, but shaky footage.

On your body: need to buy some vest or strap to hold it in place. Steady footage (i suppose)β€¦πŸ€”

On the helmet: need to buy some sort of strap to hold it in place, maybe not so shaky and will see similar to your field of view. You look funny.πŸ˜…

What do you think? Will using it for bike commute (same distance as yours ~40k 2-way)

  30. onang ferdinand on August 30, 2022 at 1:22 am

Fender is good idea in rainy season! Niceee πŸ‘πŸ‘

  31. Hazmat0 on August 30, 2022 at 1:22 am

Hey cruise, why not opt for the airless tires on the commuter? That seems like the ultimate in reliable, worry-free tires. No pumps, no tubes, no patches, etc.

  32. Furmetal Alchemist on August 30, 2022 at 1:23 am

Someone tried to steal my bike seat while I was at the grocery store so I had to get another bike lock for my seat. Wild. 😨😨

  33. Tri Truong on August 30, 2022 at 1:24 am

I really like the Uniche ratchet tool that you showcased. I have other ratchet tools but their handles are too small so you don’t get much leverage/torque. The Uniche tool looks like the handle is hefty enough to provide a good grip and torque. I’m going to look into purchasing one right now.

  34. kevinjfeeney77 on August 30, 2022 at 1:24 am

For a bag, I love my Two Wheel Gear convertible plus. Converts between a backpack and pannier pretty quick and comes with a rain fly.

Also just picked up a much more affordable convertible backpack pannier from Amazon. Haven’t been able to use it yet, so jury’s still out…hahaha

  35. Dave A Driffield on August 30, 2022 at 1:25 am

    Where are the links?

  36. Ahido Mikaro on August 30, 2022 at 1:27 am

Is the u-lock stand a bit diagonal? I did buy a u-lock, but it gets on the way of the bottle if I try to put normally. I thought about putting the stand in a different way, but it might get in the way of my legs. Though overall here in Japan it might be a bit excessive. What I do (the cable that came with the u-lock, plus another descent password cable) for when I park in front of a store is probably still excessive, though I will probably keep looking like this for now. Cycling with the u-lock is added weight I definitely don’t need on my 40km+ rides. I am sort of forced to use an outside parking lot for now, so for the nights I do use the u-lock too.

  37. Natsukage180e on August 30, 2022 at 1:29 am

    3 things
Context – I keep my bike in a bike shed during work in a semi-secure car park. "Cars need a pass to get in but pedestrians can just walk-in"

1 – I keep my pump + lights on my bike.
Reason – If my bike gets stolen I won’t need the lights or pump anymore XD

2 – I keep my Lock on the bike-post at work instead of carrying it on the bike anymore

3 – Have you ever thought of getting a pannier rack
    ?
I use to commute with a bag and found that the sweat on my back + the extra weight was always bothering me.

An extra tip I do, for those who have storage at work.
Keep spare tools at work rather than always carrying them. Spare tubes, more tools spare pump etc I just keep a bare minimum during the commute

  43. mantroid on August 30, 2022 at 1:35 am

I carry tools, tire kit, co2 and yet, when I had a flat last summer I called my wife to come pick me up- lol.

  44. FANDEFOLKLORE80 on August 30, 2022 at 1:38 am

The only time I used a bell, it ended up in my only time falling of a bike: the pedestrians moved out of my way, right to where I was going to move away from them, so I had to make a sharp turn to not ride into them. I was very lucky and fell on grass, but I still got an injured knee which kept me from riding my bike for at least a week.

  45. frostsmoke on August 30, 2022 at 1:39 am

Why don’t you use your Nitecore bike light anymore? Are the Cateye better in any way?

That Uniche tool looks awesome! Thanks I will check it out. I always love clever tools. I have a similar tool now but it’s kind of in a rollup cloth and I am always losing the bits.
