This video is part of an entire course on maintaining and repairing a road bicycle.
Introduction
This first module is probably the most critical module in the course and yet it the simplest. This course builds upon itself as you as you move through the modules. Please make sure that you thoroughly read all of the notes, watch the videos, and most importantly practice each step. Module 1 covers the basic tools that you need to work on your bike as outlined in this course. We then dive into the lexicon of bike mechanics so that you can talk intelligently to your local mechanic. You will learn how to properly clean your bike to ensure that you keep your bike looking and working like new and are not causing damage. In the last section of this module, we discuss lubrication, and the different areas that need lube, what kind and how.
