you can take 2 or 3 tire levers, depending on your seat post size, rubber band them together, and stuff them in your seat post. Also, I zipped a compass pouch to my handlebar stem, and I can keep a multitool, patches, and extra chainlinks in there.

If you don’t like using zip ties, you can use Sugru which comes in lots of colours, its moldable and its rubbery. Another trick that really works,…… now don’t laugh…… whip out that got glue gun. I attached a full bolt on fender to my Specialized Comp Crave 29er using hot glue, it was minus 40’C outside and it stood up, it doesnt hurt any components as it doesnt get hot enough to melt any plastics and just heat it up a bit and it comes off easy.

I made my fender with dollar store “cutting sheet”. Like a really thin cutting board. 50 cents a piece is really cheap for a fender that’ll last a few months

  44. Stewart Binnie on June 27, 2019 at 9:24 pm

Putting the helmet pads into a sock? Even though socks tend to go missing in the wash?? How about just wearing a bandana under your helmet & then just wash that instead? Here’s my hack for when your eating wraps – simply fold up the bottom of them before you roll them up so that the filling doesn’t fall out in the first place!

  45. Üllar Phn on June 27, 2019 at 9:24 pm

And then washing machine eats you sock with the things inside…🚴‍♀️

  46. Caden Johnson11 on June 27, 2019 at 9:24 pm

Everything for cycling is overpriced, to the point I’m starting to wonder if they aren’t trying to kill their own industry. There is nothing that makes a jersey cost $70 or a helmet cost $100.
Bike tools are just as bad. They raise the price because many are specific to bicycle repair and maintenance and therefore must-haves. However, basic tools need not cost a fortune. I just priced Pedro’s 9-piece ball-end hex key set at $35, and have seen similar sets for even more. Harbor Freight has a 13-piece ball-end set for $7. The same applies to screwdrivers, cable cutters and crimpers, and even wrenches that are available in thin versions. Many tool makers offer six-point sockets as well as the standard twelve to save the corned of plastic adjustment knobs, although you might still need to grind the edge. Buying standard versions of tools whenever possible helps offset the cost of crank pullers and chain whips.
