What a bullshit list. No KLR 650?? Yeah, it’s discontinued, but still should be on the list there’s a reason why it was around for over 30 years.

  2. Ajit Jagdale on June 27, 2019 at 8:29 pm

  15. oknevals on June 27, 2019 at 8:45 pm

Not sure how Benelli 502 ended up on this 1L+ list. It is completely different category and there are many comparable models in that segment that offer more value. Mutistrada belongs to be on this list far more than that Benelli. Even Yamaha Tracer 900 fits better and some under liter BMW models.

  16. Adam Leach on June 27, 2019 at 8:48 pm

Nice list and comparison. Well put together video.

    1 up 650 is enough,i love my v strom

  20. oknevals on June 27, 2019 at 8:50 pm

Bike has to fit the rider. Just because one machine has better spec on the paper, doesn’t mean everybody can ride it.
It also depends where you are touring. In the US, roads are good and one rides fast. In other countries, you have slow technical roads.
Liter bike is overkill. Personally, I prefer shaft drive for long distance touring. Not many choices though. ADV is probably more versatile compared to sport touring but, with proper strategy and time on hands, any machine can do the job.

  21. Darrell McMillan on June 27, 2019 at 8:51 pm

I’d go for the Triumph, followed closely by the BMW and KTM.

  22. Tuncay Dinc on June 27, 2019 at 8:51 pm

    KTM best

  23. beggar ayoub on June 27, 2019 at 8:56 pm

  24. Monster_Zero on June 27, 2019 at 8:56 pm

Hi guys never owned a bike before but have been very interested in the adventure touring bikes since I saw the Buell Ulysses XB12X in 2006. Was curious if the Super Tenere is a good bike to begin on?

  25. kamal mohsen on June 27, 2019 at 8:57 pm

Too heavy Too expensive , royal enfield himalayan seems to be the best bike in this class for under $5000 brand new.

  26. TchakiiB on June 27, 2019 at 9:00 pm

Please help me : benelli trk 502 is a good bike ?

  27. Kip Rondorf on June 27, 2019 at 9:01 pm

    No Motto Guzzi?

  28. Route NRide on June 27, 2019 at 9:01 pm

Why only huge bikes? you’ve never seen a 650 to 800 I guess. I only tour with a 650. Plenty of power for the job yet light enough for adv, unlike these hippos.

  29. Ink khan on June 27, 2019 at 9:03 pm

    Always loved the KTM
    The winner
    KTM badass off-roading motorbike

  30. law order on June 27, 2019 at 9:03 pm

I would go with anything made in Japan. Reliability full stop.

  31. K Watson on June 27, 2019 at 9:06 pm

Were is the 1260 Multistrada Enduro? It’s awesome. I had a 1200 Tenere and loved it, but it is not in the same class as the 1200 Enduro I have now. I guess it all depends on your definition of “best”.

  32. Barry Brant on June 27, 2019 at 9:08 pm

    Mopeds rule

  33. Milan Spasic on June 27, 2019 at 9:09 pm

Love to see some lift any of these fully loaded of road #AdventureToStarbucks #RideLight

  38. vivek jkumar on June 27, 2019 at 9:12 pm

The only bikes which need to be on this list are 1250gs, triumph tiger 1200xc, Ducati multistrada, versys 1000, ktm adv 1290 and the super tenere. Africa twin is not a litre class adv bike it competes against bmw 850gs and tiger 800

  39. mld on June 27, 2019 at 9:14 pm

funny the prices listed by manufacturers vs the reality of what each bike can be bought for ! most of these bikes BUT the BMW-GS can be bought for less and at times alot less than the listed price while the bmw gs is never found for anywhere near that price more like $4K more (US) and up

  40. Bill Oldreive on June 27, 2019 at 9:16 pm

What about the ktm 1290 s

  41. Marc G on June 27, 2019 at 9:17 pm

  42. Prashant Rawat on June 27, 2019 at 9:19 pm

    Kawasaki rocks

  43. miguel galamba on June 27, 2019 at 9:19 pm

I have to say… Im going to buy the Triumph Tiger 1200 xrt! Why? Because it’s balanced it’s so beautiful, great engine, suspensions, brakes, everything! It’s the most preety ADV bike! The GS is really ugly, but also great, the KTM is simply horrible! The Kawasaki is purely heavy… Ducati it’s just HP… Suzuki is ugly too! I really think they’re all great bikes but Triumph Tiger 1200 is that he One that gets it all! And my next xrt red it’s soooooo 😍

  44. RexDexPL on June 27, 2019 at 9:20 pm

Bought KTM 790R, somehow I have a feeling that bigger is not better in the category of adventure bikes, especially if you want to take it offroad.

  45. György Rabenschwartz on June 27, 2019 at 9:21 pm

Mostly fat elefant parade bikes aka wellness tourers for the oversaturated.

    Good

  50. shae grover on June 27, 2019 at 9:27 pm

These bikes are monsters. Extremely tall. Extremely heavy. Extremely expensive. Horrible combination. Normally I hark on the fact that new adventure bikes are pointlessly massive. 1200cc should not be the normal. They should aim for dirt bike weight and suspension with adventure bike comfort. All these bikes are taking points from Harley. The biggest disappointemnt of motorcycles. Heavy and expensive. (And many are slow for displacement)
